SELALU PERGI KE FAST FOOD OUTLET YE

For those who like to brings their children to fastfood outlet instead of playground read these !

Here are the five worst food which may have link with cancer :
  • Hot dogs: The Cancer Prevention Coalition recommends that children should not eat more than 12 hot dogs per month because of the risk of cancer. If you must have your hot dog fix, look for those without sodium nitrite listed among the ingredients.
  • Processed meats and bacon: These meats almost always contain the same sodium nitrite found in hot dogs. You can find some without nitrites, but you'll have to look for them in natural grocers or health food stores. Bacon is also high in saturated fat, which contributes to the risk of cancers, including breast cancer. Limiting your consumption of processed meats and saturated fats also benefits the heart.
  • Doughnuts: Doughnuts contain hydrogenated oils, white flour, sugar, and acrylamides. Essentially, they're one of the worst cancer foods you can possibly eat. Reader's Digest calls doughnuts "disastrous" as a breakfast food, and many experts agree it's probably one of the worst ways to start the day.
  • French fries: Fries are made with hydrogenated oil and fried at high temperatures. Some chains even add sugar to their fry recipe to make them even more irresistible. Not only do they clog your arteries with saturated fat and trans fat, they also contain acrylamides. They should be called "cancer fries," not French fries.
  • Chips / crackers / cookies: These generally contain white flour and sugar as well as trans fats, but it's not enough to simply look for these ingredients on the label; you have to actually "decode" the ingredients list that food manufacturers use to deceive consumers. They do this by hiding ingredients (such as hiding MSG in yeast extract, or by fiddling with serving sizes so they can claim the food is trans fat free, even when it contains trans fats (the new Girl Scout cookies use this trick).

Besides avoiding these foods, what else can consumers do to reduce their risk of cancer? The main things are simple: Eat unprocessed foods and base your diet largely on plants. Consume foods that have omega-3 fats and other essential fatty acids. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables; many common ones have known cancer-fighting properties. Get regular vigorous exercise, since tumors cannot thrive in highly oxygenated environments. Keep your blood sugar stable to avoid being an all-you-can-eat buffet for cancer cells.

Eat foods high in natural vitamin C, a nutrient that deters the conversion of nitrite into nitrosamine and promotes healthy immune function. Make sure you get adequate amounts of cancer-fighting vitamin D through exposure to sunlight -- about 10 to 15 minutes each day if you have fair skin, or ten times as long if you have dark skin pigmentation. Stay well hydrated to ensure that your body rids itself of toxins. Avoid smoking and don't use conventional fragrance, cosmetics and personal care products -- virtually all of them contain cancer-causing chemicals.

BAHAYA ANAK GEMUK

Bacalah ni ....
A dramatic rise in the numbers of obese children and their deaths from heart disease has been predicted in two new reports.
Two studies in the New England Journal of Medicine from the US and Denmark say that overweight children have more heart problems in later life and there will be more of them in the future.
The Danish study, which tracked more than 250,000 school children in Copenhagen from 1930 to 1976, found overweight boys in particular grew up to have more heart problems.
The heavier they were as youngsters, particularly entering their teens, the greater the risk. For example, a 13-year-old boy who was 25lbs above the average weight was found to be 33% more likely than a child of normal weight to have a heart attack or some other problem caused by coronary heart disease (CHD) by age 60.
The finding "suggests that more children than ever before are facing increased risks of CHD in adulthood," said the team led by Jennifer Baker of the Centre for Health and Society in Copenhagen.
The second study said that of the 17% of boys and 16% of girls in the United States now overweight a quarter of the boys are obese, and that number is expected to increase to 30 to 37 per cent by 2020, when they turn 35.
For females in that group, 32% of whom now are obese, the ratio will rise to 34 to 44% according to that research team, led by Kirsten Bibbins-Domingo of the University of California, San Francisco.
That will lead to more heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure at a younger age, and even aggressive treatment will not be able to stem the trend, they reported.
By 2035, the prevalence of heart disease will have increased by 5 to 16%, they estimated.
"Barring a major advance in the treatment of either excessive weight gain itself or its associated alterations in blood pressure, lipid levels and glucose metabolism, current adolescent overweight will have a substantial effect on public health far into the future," they concluded.

Preschool education..... ?

Kebanyakan ibubapa dibandar ni rata-rata menghantar anak-anak masing-masing ke sekolah prechool seawal 4 tahun. Adakah ianya benar-benar perlu. Well ... susah nak cakap kerana tiada kajian specifik telah dilakukan dimalaysia. Are all those kids who have had their early preschooler actuall performed well in comparison to those who were not? Well opinion is a matter of opinion unless there were study done to prove it then only we can make a good remark.

Obese baby .... are you concern

Childhood obesity is on the rising, partly due to increase our our socioeconomic status. More and more parents resort to much easy option to bottle feed their youngs instead of traditional breast feed. With bottle feed parents tend to overfeed their children. The calorie content is also higher. With extra money in the pocket feeding children with easy to get high sugar content junkfoods. Society wrong perception on how the baby should look like ..... chubby means cute ... may also contribute to this increasing medical concern. A recent report qouted as high as 40 percent of paediatric age group in Malaysia considered obese. Data collected in western shows alarming risk of getting chronic medical condition such as young hypertension, diabetes and other diseseases when they reached young adulthood.

LAGI PASAL BAYI MENANGIS

Kenapa anak anda menangis?
Solution baliklah rumah tidurkan bayi tu.
Anak kecil anda mungkin sakit perut, periksa kalau bayi anda demam etc kalau tak pasti consult family doctor anda.

Awal malam bolehlah berjaga tapi kalau berlarutan hinggi awal pagi...mungkin kita sendiri pun tertidur kepenatan.

BACALAH ARTIKEL NI UNTUK YANG SUKA ANTIBIOTIK TU

Original Article:http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/cold-medicines/CC00083

Cold medicines for kids: What's the risk?
Jay Hoecker, M.D.

The common cold is a nuisance, but over-the-counter cough and cold medicines can help your child feel better — right? Think again. Cough and cold medicines aren't recommended for children, especially those younger than age 2. So what's the best way to treat a child's cold? Here's practical advice from Jay Hoecker, M.D., a pediatrics specialist at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.

What's the concern about cough and cold medicines for kids?
Over-the-counter cough and cold medicines won't cure a common cold or make it go away any sooner. In fact, cough and cold medicines haven't been proved effective for children. And there are serious risks to consider. For example, the sedating effects of antihistamines can be dangerous for kids already having trouble breathing. For young children, an accidental overdose of cough or cold medicine could be fatal.
What if cough and cold medicines seemed to work for my child in the past?
Chances are, your child's signs and symptoms simply improved on their own — or the sedating effects of the medication made you think that your child was feeling better. Low-grade fevers don't need treatment, and research shows that cough and cold medicines for kids are no more effective than a placebo.
Are cough and cold medicines a problem for teenagers, too?
Teenagers aren't as likely to experience side effects from cough and cold medicines as are younger children. Some cough and cold medicines may make teens sleepy, however, while others may have the opposite effect. Even then, remember that cough and cold medicines can't make a cold go away any sooner.
What about antibiotics?
Colds are caused by viruses, so antibiotics won't help. And the more your child uses antibiotics, the more likely he or she is to get sick with an antibiotic-resistant infection in the future.
Can any medications help treat the common cold?
An over-the-counter pain reliever — such as acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) or ibuprofen (Motrin, others) — can reduce a fever and ease the pain of a sore throat or headache. Remember, however, low-grade fevers don't need treatment. If you give your child a pain reliever, follow the dosing guidelines carefully.
Don't give ibuprofen to a child younger than age 6 months, and don't give aspirin to anyone age 18 or younger. Aspirin has been associated with Reye's syndrome, a rare but potentially fatal illness.
Also treat herbal or alternative remedies for the common cold with a dose of caution. Few studies have been done on the effect these products may have on children. If you want to give your child an herbal or alternative remedy, consult your child's doctor first.

How can I help my child feel better?
There's no cure for the common cold, but you can help your child feel better while he or she is toughing it out.

  • Offer plenty of fluids. Liquids can help loosen the congestion, and coughing can help clear the mucus from your child's airway. Offer water or juice. Serve chicken soup for dinner.
  • Encourage rest. Consider keeping your child home from school and other activities if he or she has a fever or bad cough.
  • Moisten the air. Run a humidifier in your child's room to help soothe irritated nasal passages. Aim the mist away from your child's bed to keep the bedding from becoming damp. To prevent mold growth, change the water daily and follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning the unit. Steam from a hot shower may help, too.
  • Try saline drops. Saline nose drops can loosen thick nasal mucus and make it easier for your child to breathe. Look for these over-the-counter drops in any pharmacy.
Soothe a sore throat. For older children, gargling salt water or sucking on hard candy or cough drops may soothe a sore throat.

When should I call the doctor?

Most colds simply need to run their course. It's important to take your child's signs and symptoms seriously, however. If you have a baby who's younger than age 3 months, call the doctor at the first sign of illness. For newborns, a common cold can quickly develop into croup, pneumonia or another serious illness.
Otherwise, call the doctor if your child:
Isn't urinating as often as usual
Has a temperature higher than 103 F for one day
Has a temperature higher than 100 F for more than three days
Seems to have ear or sinus pain e
Has yellow eye discharge
Has a cough for longer than one week
Has thick, green nasal discharge for longer than two weeks
Seek medical help immediately if your child:
Refuses to accept fluids
Coughs hard enough to cause vomiting or changes in skin color
Coughs up blood-tinged sputum
Has difficulty breathing or is bluish around the lips and mouth

What's the best way to prevent the common cold?
The common cold typically spreads through infected respiratory droplets coughed or sneezed into the air. The best defense is plenty of soap and water.
  • Keep it clean. Teach your kids to wash their hands thoroughly and often. When soap and water aren't available, provide hand wipes or gels that contain germ-killing alcohol. Keep toys and common household surfaces clean, too.
  • Cover up. Teach everyone in the household to cough or sneeze into a tissue — and then toss it. If you can't reach a tissue in time, cough or sneeze into the crook of your arm.
Don't share. Avoid sharing utensils, drinking glasses, washcloths, towels and other items that may harbor germs. To prevent confusion, you might want to specifically mark these items for each member of the family.
  • Avoid anyone who's sick. This is especially important during the first few days of a viral illness, when the person who's sick may be most contagious.
For parents and children alike, simple preventive measures can go a long way toward preventing the common cold.

KENAPA BAYI ANDA MENANGIS

Kenapa bayi anda menangis? anda pening atau letih ?

1. Kembung Perut
a. Perut kembung.
Selalunya kalau dah sampai tahap ni bayi tu pun dah terlena. JADI APA MORALNYA

a. Sebelum discharge untuk anak pertama tanya lah jururawat yang bertugas serba sedikit hal penjagaan bayi. Belilah buku pasal baby-baby ni sebelum bersalin. Yang moden selalu betul yang tradisi pilihlah yang rasanya tak mudarat.
b. Kalau surirumah teruskanlah sampai baby tu 2 tahun. Selesai banyak masalah. Bayi pun Sihat.
c.Bapa mesti ikut terlibat sekali mendalami ilmu menjaga baby so tak delah asal bayi melalak je mesti confirm lapar bagilah dengan cepat terus pass kat ibunya

Wassallam nanti kita cerita masalah lain pulak.

Bayi anda susah tidur .... biasalah
